What do you have to do to become a student?

BirdID is a part of Nord University, and follows the same admission guidelines as other study programs at universities in Norway. First you have to apply in My Page. In order to be accepted as a student, you must fulfill the admission requirements. There are no exceptions from this.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

You must meet at least one of the following two requirements in order to be approved as a student.

  • You must have completed upper secondary school. Send proof of your exams from upper secondary school, or proof that you have taken at least one exam from university/college.
  • You must be at least 25 years old and have 5 years of relevant work experience.

 ENGLISH LANGUAGE DOCUMENTATION

Students that are citizens in other countries than native english speaking countries, Sweden or Denmark, must
submit a valid english-test/proof of sufficient english skills in order to be accepted as a student in the BirdID National subjects and BirdID Western Palearctic subjects. The general basis for admission to universities and university colleges in Norway is called Higher Education Entrance Qualification. For applicants with foreign education, the requirements for english skills are specified in the GSU-list. You will find sufficient information about what documents you must submit by clicking the links below. Many students already fulfill the english demand without knowing it, so it is worth to check the english requirements for your country thoroughly.
